Eligible entrants:
Entry is only open to WA residents who are 18 years or over and have purchased a General Admission ticket to attend a Cockburn Cougars NBL1 Home Game (as listed above) via the respective URL listed below:
The following persons are NOT eligible to take part in the Promotion:
- Any professional, semi-professional, former professional, or collegiate player for any form of Basketball or Netball;
- Anyone that has ever received, or been entitled to receive, more than AUD 10,000 in payment or reward (including match fees, sponsorship fees, cash, goods or services) for playing any form of Basketball or Netball;
- Anyone that has ever been a member of, or played on, any international Basketball or Netball team; and
Anyone that has ever been an international or professional coach for any Basketball or Netball team.
How to Enter:
To enter the Promotion, the entrant must have purchased a ticket to and attend a Cockburn Cougars NBL1 Home Game (as listed above) at Wally Hagan Stadium, Starling St, Hamilton Hill WA 6963, Australia.
All eligible persons who purchase a ticket to a Cougars NBL1 Home Game will receive an automatic entry into the draw for that respective game but may only be eligible to be deemed a winner if in attendance at the game.
Draw:
- A separate draw will take place for entries received for each Cockburn Cougars NBL1 Home Game at Wally Hagan Basketball Stadium, Starling St, Hamilton Hill WA 6963, Australia during the quarter time of the respective men’s game.
- The first two (2) valid entries drawn from each draw (“Drawn Entrants”) will compete to have the chance to win AUD$50,000. The two Drawn Entrants will be required to take part in the Giant Game of Card Pairs Game (“Promotional Game”).
- The draw conductor may draw reserve winners in case of ineligible or invalid entries.
- The Drawn Entrants will be announced at each corresponding home game. If a winner drawn is not in attendance at the home game or is not willing to participate in the Promotional Game or does not notify themselves to promotional staff as per directions provided in any notification message (including by time specified) they will be deemed invalid and ineligible for a prize and the next reserve winner drawn will be contacted. This process will continue until there are two (2) valid participants for the Promotional Game.
- Under no circumstances whatsoever will a proxy or replacement participant be permitted to take part in the Promotional Game, if the Drawn Entrant is unable to participate for any reason.
There will be a total of twenty (20) Drawn Entrants throughout the Promotion with two (2) Drawn Entrants for each home game.
Game Details:
A Promotional Game will be held at Wally Hagan Stadium at each home game.
Each of the two (2) Drawn Entrants for a Promotional Game will be provided 12 cards faced down on the floor and will be given 45 seconds to match as many cards as they can. The Drawn Entrants will take turns in completing the Game. The order in which the Drawn Entrants play will be determined by the Promoter. Whoever collects the most pairs of cards within the 45 seconds will be deemed the finalist for that Promotional Game (“Finalist”). Each Finalist will win Minor Prize 1 outlined below; and the Drawn Entrant who ‘loses’ the game will win Minor Prize 2 outlined below.
In the event of a tie (i.e. both Drawn Entrants reveal the same number of pairs of cards in the Promotional Game), each Drawn Entrant will participate in the Tie Breaker Game.
Tie Breaker Game: There will be 12 cards faced down on the floor and whoever collects the first pair of cards will be deemed the Finalist for that Promotional Game. A coin will be tossed to determine who will go first in the Tie-Breaker Game.
Finalist Draw:
- A draw will take place for all Finalists during the Cockburn Cougars NBL1 Final Home Game at Wally Hagan Basketball Stadium, Starling St, Hamilton Hill WA 6963, Australia during the quarter time of the men’s game on 19/08/22 (“Final Game”). All Finalists must be willing to attend the Final Game and be present during the draw. If a Finalist does not attend the Final Game they will be deemed ineligible for the Major Prize. Each Finalist will also receive a ticket to the Cockburn Cougars home game where the Final Game will take place (if they have not already purchased a ticket to this game). Tickets for this home game are available at: https://www.intix.com.au/events/round19-cockburncougarsvswillettontigers-round19-2022.
- The draw conductor may draw reserve winners in case of ineligible or invalid entries.
- If the Drawn Finalist is not willing to participate or is unavailable, the Promoter will contact the next reserve entrant drawn. If a Drawn Finalist fails to do so they will forfeit their right to participate in the Final Game and therefore their opportunity to win a prize.
- Under no circumstances whatsoever will a proxy or replacement participant be permitted to take part in the Final Game, if a Finalist is unable to participate for any reason.
- The first drawn Finalist (“Drawn Finalist”) will have an opportunity to win AUD$50,000. The Drawn Finalist will be required to attempt to shoot a half-court shot during the Final Game. The Promoter will indicate where the Drawn Finalist must shoot from on court. If the Drawn Finalist successfully shoots the ball in the basketball ring, they will be awarded the Major Prize of AUD$50,000 and if unsuccessful, the Major Prize will not be awarded and the Drawn Finalist will instead be awarded the consolation prize of AUD$500. Any cash prize will be paid by direct deposit to an Australian bank account in the winner’s name. The winner must provide their Australian bank account details to the Promoter in order for the prize to be awarded. If a Drawn Finalist fails to comply with the rules for the Final Game provided by the Promoter or does not shoot from the place as indicated by the Promoter they will forfeit their right to the Major Prize. For the sake of clarity either the $500 or $50,000 prizes will be awarded but not both.
Entries permitted:
Each ticket purchased for a Home Game = one (1) drawn entry for the draw applicable to that game.
If an entrant wins Minor Prize 1 or Minor Prize 2, they will not be eligible to be entered into any future draws at a Home Game (excluding the draw on 12/8/22).
Total Prize Pool:

- If a prize is provided to the Promoter by a third party, the prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the third party prize supplier and the provision of the prize is the sole responsibility of the third party and not the Promoter. The terms and conditions which apply to the prize at the time it is issued to the winner will prevail over these Conditions of Entry, to the extent of any inconsistency. Incomplete, indecipherable, inaudible, incorrect and illegible entries, as applicable, will at the Promoter's discretion be deemed invalid and not eligible to win. Entries containing offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third party rights, including intellectual property rights, are not eligible to win. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an individual to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and may render all entries submitted by that individual invalid.
- The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with these Conditions of Entry. In the event that there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Promotion or claiming a prize, the Promoter will resolve the dispute in direct consultation with the entrant. If the dispute cannot be resolved the Promoter’s decision will be final.
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence or wilful misconduct) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using any prize (or recommendation), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
- The entrant will participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing and editorial activities relating to the Promotion, including (but not limited to) being recorded, photographed, filmed or interviewed and acknowledges that the Promoter may use any such marketing and editorial material without further reference or compensation to them.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications and the entrant must seek their own independent financial advice in regards to the tax implications relating to the prize or acceptance of the prize.
