Plexus appoints Craig Harris as new CEO

Plexus, a leading legal tech provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Harris as the new CEO, taking over from founder Andrew Mellett.

Andrew Mellett, will remain on Plexus’ Board of Directors and move to the new role of Executive Director and Founder. Craig Harris is an experienced SaaS executive of almost 20 years and has led teams in Australia and internationally.

Plexus was founded by Andrew Mellett in 2011 with a simple belief: The Law is humanity's most important ideal; yet it had become slow, expensive, and unpredictable. He believed there had to be a better way.

Across the last decade, under Mellett’s leadership, Plexus has pioneered the NewLaw industry, launched Australia’s first Managed Legal Services business, the world’s first Productised Legal Service (Promotion Wizard), and lead the way on Legal Technology (before the term existed). In the process, Plexus was profiled by HBR, INSEAD & Melbourne Business School (amongst others) as a case study on disruption and the Financial Times named us one of the top 10 businesses changing professional services around the world.

Since its inception, Plexus has expanded its team globally with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, London, Cebu, and New York, and worked with many well-known brands like L'Oréal, Ocado, Pepsico, RICOH Australia, and Axiom Global. Last year, Plexus announced the acquisition of their legal secondments arm Plexus Engage by global resourcing firm Axiom.

Andrew Mellett said, “When I look back I recognise how naive we were to think we could drive change in such an intransigent industry. Prior to joining Plexus, Harris held a range of executive positions at various technology companies including Lumary, Australia's leading healthcare software provider and technology partner for the disability and aged care industries, and market-leading workforce management SaaS unicorn, Deputy. Harris has also been a part of the Plexus ecosystem as an Advisory Board member since 2021.
