At Plexus, we closely track the evolving needs of modern legal teams and invest deeply in innovations that deliver real legal value. Today, we’re proud to announce a major step forward in legal AI: Draft Advice, a new AI-powered feature within the Plexus matter management module.

Draft Advice is designed to help in-house legal teams respond to business requests faster — without compromising legal judgment, governance, or control.

What is draft advice?

Draft Advice uses Plexus AI to automatically generate a structured first draft of legal advice based on the business user’s matter request.

By analysing the request and predicting relevant legal concepts, Draft Advice produces an initial response that addresses key issues, risks, and considerations. Lawyers can then review, refine, and enhance the draft with their own legal expertise before approving and sharing advice with the business.

The result is significantly reduced turnaround times, less administrative back-and-forth, and more time for lawyers to focus on high-value legal work.

Built for legal productivity, with lawyer control

Draft Advice was developed in close collaboration with Plexus customers, legal teams, AI specialists, and engineers to ensure it reflects how legal work actually happens.

Crucially, lawyers remain fully in control at every step.

Draft Advice is only visible to the assigned lawyer. Lawyers can edit, expand, or rewrite the advice entirely, and advice is only shared with the business once Legal approves and publishes it. No advice is ever sent automatically or without human review.

This ensures legal risk management and professional judgment remain central, while AI handles the heavy lifting of first-pass drafting.

Designed for modern legal teams

Draft Advice helps legal teams respond to business requests faster, reduce time spent on repetitive drafting, capture relevant facts earlier in the matter lifecycle, and deliver clearer, more consistent advice across the organisation.

By embedding AI directly into legal workflows, Draft Advice supports scale without sacrificing quality or control.

What the team is saying

Cadell Falconer, Head of Product, said:

“We’re thrilled to bring Draft Advice to Plexus. Our commitment to innovation and close collaboration with customers has ensured Draft Advice is the first AI feature of its kind in the market. It helps lawyers get the relevant facts upfront, minimises administrative run-around, and provides an initial analysis of the legal issues to consider — all while keeping lawyers firmly in control.”

Plexus CEO Craig Harris added:

“Plexus has always been on a mission to create the future of The Law. Draft Advice is our first step in embedding artificial intelligence into the fabric of our platform. Our product roadmap reflects a deep commitment to customer value, with more AI-powered features coming soon.”

At Plexus, we keep a close eye on the ever-evolving legal landscape and are always on the lookout for true innovation that drives legal value and helps us shape the future of the law.
